Independence Day Demonstration – By Land and By Sea

Our goal is to have a minimum of 20,000 people attend the MA/NH Independence Day Tea Party in Portsmouth, NH. From there, an armada of ships sailing in both Portsmouth Harbor and Boston Harbor (hopefully some will sail from Portsmouth to Boston as well), with a convoy of vehicles of all types taking to the highway, and culminating in Boston, MA on July 4th, 2009.

We need to have as many people show up as possible. This is the most significant event in recent memory. This is where it all began…here in New Hampshire. Let us show them how wrong it was to ignore us in April!!

Please follow this link to volunteer for this event!

Help us with a sign wave this Monday and/or Tuesday nights.

Genderless Marriage (aka Same Sex Marriage) passed the New Hampshire House last Thursday. The threat of redefining marriage in this state is VERY real. For this reason:
This Monday and Tuesday nights, we will welcome Governor Lynch with signs asking him to VETO GENDERLESS MARRIAGE. Below are the two opportunities. We need big numbers to maximize impact. The Governor has NOT stated what he would do if the Senate hands him the Genderless (aka Same-Sex) Marriage bill. We need to help him make up his mind.

Bring your own sign: see below for suggested wording.

MONDAY, March 30

Arrive 4:30 (reception starts at 5pm and program begins at 6:30 so expect to stay until 6:45pm)

New Hampshire Primary Awards Dinner
Radisson Hotel, Manchester

700 Elm Street

You are needed in two locations: the hotel’s main entrance on Elm and the parking garage entrance on Granite Street

TUESDAY, March 31st

Arrive 5:45 (event starts at 6:30 pm so expect to stay until 6:45)

Governor John Lynch will address the Bedford community on "The Outlook for the New Hampshire Economy" http://www.bedfordnhdems.org/200808/

Bedford High School Auditorium

Gather at the entrance to the Bedford High School on Nashua Road (there's a parking lot at the entrance)

Address: 47 Nashua Rd Bedford

Forward this e-mail to anyone you think would be interested....

Some suggestions for posters:

A great Jefferson quote -

Thomas Jefferson:

"The same prudence which in private life would forbid our paying our own money for unexplained projects, forbids it in the dispensation of the public moneys. ... The multiplication of public offices, increase of expense beyond income, growth and entailment of a public debt, are indications soliciting the employment of the pruning knife. ... We must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. ... The principle of spending money to be paid by posterity, under the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale. ... If we can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people, under the pretence of taking care of them, they must become happy. ... I think we have more machinery of government than is necessary, too many parasites living on the labor of the industrious. ... The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground. ... [A] wise and frugal government...shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government. ... Sometimes it is said that man can not be trusted with government of himself. Can he, then, be trusted with the government of others? Or have we found angels in the forms of kings to govern him? Let history answer this question."
